
ROBERT ECTOR
Robert Ector is a fashion photographer, art director, and author whose work documents the intersection of style, culture, and identity across generations of influential figures in entertainment, fashion, and public life. Known for bridging the precision of studio photography with the authenticity of street-style observation, his images form a visual record of contemporary cultural leadership.
Ector has served as personal photographer and art director to iconic figures including Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Steve Harvey, Serena Williams, and Nicki Minaj. His photography and creative direction have appeared in national and international campaigns and publications including VOGUE, Disney, ABC, Tiffany & Co., MAC Cosmetics, David Yurman, Amazon, Variety, NBC, and Universal Music Group.
After several years working abroad in London, Paris, and Italy covering runway shows for fashion houses including Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Chanel, Ector released his #1 best-selling monograph
DETAILS | Robert Ector — City Streets Are the Real Runways, with a foreword by Mary J. Blige. The 15 lbs, 650 page coffee table book highlights The World’s Most Fashionable People and has since been inducted into the Savannah College of Art and Design Library of Archives and Special Collections.
The cover of DETAILS features Giovanna Engelbert, now Global Creative Director of Swarovski, and the monograph is held in the private collections of cultural figures including Samuel L. Jackson, Magic Johnson, and Kim Kardashian. The book was also notably photographed inside Stevie Wonder’s Calabasas residence in The Wall Street Journal Luxury Homes.
In recognition of his cultural contributions through photography and visual storytelling, the City of Atlanta, GA proclaimed November 5th as Robert Ector Day, and Fulton County, GA later recognized September 16th as Robert Ector Appreciation Day.
